Thanks For Making My Day....

Yesterday I was a bit disappointed about a situation and so my reason for posting this yesterday. Then a real good friend of mine said this to me:

"Sometimes you plant the seed. Other times you get to harvest. Being a seed planter is a blessing too- remember that. Your reward will be in Heaven and God gives the best rewards of all!!"

Those were music to my ears ~ thanks for making my day!

Like I said, I count my blessings...

Thank God for friends!

I'm Glad It Finally Clicked!

People don't listen until they're ready to listen.

Have you heard that saying before?

How many times have you given advice to people and often you think it's going in deaf ears.

Then one day you hear them say, "so and so told me such and such and I'm so glad for it". Only that the so and so and such and such isn't you?!?

I know, it's heart crushing.

But.....we have to look at it another way, so it doesn't hurt too much.

Like, at least NOW they finally get it.

It's taken me until I'm blue in the face to say the same thing to someone but it took someone else for them to listen to.

UGH!

Such is life, I guess.

{dot} {dot} {dot}

I'm counting my blessings.....

Mai-Tai

Happy Monday!

DS and I went to Target this morning. They're starting to put all Christmas stuff on clearance! I finally bought a 48" wreath to go over our front door. Gotta love that Target!

If you haven't caught on yet...I love to shop. The funny thing is so does my son. My daughter I can understand....but my son?? I wonder if he'll ever outgrow it. The first thing he always tells me when he wakes up in the morning is "Mommy, can we go shopping now?!" Too funny!

We're having a cocktail party on the 29th, so I'm getting ready and buy all the necessities. You guys wanna come?! {wink}

Who here has a great recipe for Mai-Tais?? Post it!

TTFN~

Ode to Dan

Not sure if you all heard.....Dan Folgerberg died this morning after 3 years of battle with prostate cancer. Here's to Dan. May he rest peacefully in heaven.

Do you guys all know this song?

***

Met my old lover in the grocery store
The snow was falling christmas eve
I stole behind her in the frozen foods
And I touched her on the sleeve

She didnt recognize the face at first
But then her eyes flew open wide
She went to hug me and she spilled her purse
And we laughed until we cried.

We took her groceries to the checkout stand
The food was totalled up and bagged
We stood there lost in our embarrassment
As the conversation dragged.

We went to have ourselves a drink or two
But couldnt find an open bar
We bought a six-pack at the liquor store
And we drank it in her car.

We drank a toast to innocence
We drank a toast to now
And tried to reach beyond the emptiness
But neither one knew how.

She said shed married her an architect
Who kept her warm and safe and dry
She would have liked to say she loved the man
But she didnt like to lie.

I said the years had been a friend to her
And that her eyes were still as blue
But in those eyes I wasnt sure if I saw
Doubt or gratitude.

She said she saw me in the record stores
And that I must be doing well
I said the audience was heavenly
But the traveling was hell.

We drank a toast to innocence
We drank a toast to now
And tried to reach beyond the emptiness
But neither one knew how.

We drank a toast to innocence
We drank a toast to time
Reliving in our eloquence
Another auld lang syne...

The beer was empty and our tongues were tired
And running out of things to say
She gave a kiss to me as I got out
And I watched her drive away.

Just for a moment I was back at school
And felt that old familiar pain
And as I turned to make my way back home
The snow turned into rain --

Eat, Shop & Drink

Hello, Hello!

Last night I went out with the neighborhood girls to do our Annual Eat, Shop & Drink festivities. It's a great way for a night out plus we get to do some shopping and a grab bag to boot! It's a lot of fun things all rolled up into one.

We started off having dinner at Stir Crazy. Had salmon in black bean and teriyaki sauce served with brown rice. Oh yeah, and of course, my mojitos. YUM! After dinner we did our grab bag. We each pick a number out of a hat, then the first person gets to pick a present. The second person, can either pick another present or steals a present that has been opened. The next person then does the same thing until all presents are opened and have a new home. As you can figure out it's best if you're the last person, cause you can have the present you really want and it's not so hot to be the first person, since your present can be stolen from you!

So guess who got #1? The one and only....so I start. I open a small present. Big things come in small packages, you know. And what was it? A nice hand-made jewelry with shells that pick up the color of your outfit. I love it! It's mine. So player #2 goes, What does she do? YEP! She steals mine! Ahhh! I loved what I got...now it's gone. Waah! At the end of the night I ended up with a wine stopper...and if you know me, that is a gift I can totally appreciate! Love my wine, especially reds! {wink} But lately, I have been drinking Rieslings. My favorite the Polka Dot.

After dinner, we did our shopping. We hit up the Gap, Express, Bebe, Macy's. Etc...etc....

So what do you think is next?! Drinks! of course. At The Cheesecake Factory. And of course, we had Snicker's Cheesecake, Chocolate Fudge Cake and Apple Crisp. We all shared!

Oh what a night!

How about you? Do you have a Holiday tradition you do with your girlfriends? Do tell!

12 Days of Christmas: Day 10

Good Monday Morning Everyone!

Hope you're all doing good so far this week. I have made great improvements in my Art Room. I can see my table! YEAH!!! OK, the challenge -- to keep it clean all week! LOL!

I can't create when my room is a mess, can you? Let me rephrase that, I can't get started creating when my room is a mess. While I'm at work, however, that's a whole 'nother story. Then by the time I'm done, it's like a tornado hit it! How about you? Do you keep things neat as you go? Or do you "let the chips fall where they may!"

Well, look what I've gathered up for you today! Some tags!!!!
These are so fun to play with. You can even use them with your Christmas gifts this year! Have FUN with them!

I know you're all happy and anxious that we're coming to a close....but I kind of like doing this. I'm going to be sad, when you guys don't visit me anymore. BUT make sure you do as I have LOTS to give-away and I may just do it, CORRECTION, I WILL DO IT every now and then. Afterall, that's why they call it a RAK {Random Acts of Kindness}, right?!

Ok so here you go....TAG!

12 Days of Christmas: Day 9

Good Sunday Morning Everyone!!!

Here's your Day 9 goodie --
Some Christmas shapes you can alter with patterned paper, beads, ribbons, flowers, anything and everything your heart desires! Have FUN posting!

What are you guys doing today? I'm organizing my Art Room. Some of you may not know, but I have converted our living room to my very own escape place. Except I can't really, since I'm surrounded by my favorite people. :) I love it though. I can really multi-task and do what I love without feeling guilty of abandoning my family. Hehehe!

So anyway, I need to reorganize and maybe it's time to visit and get rid of stuff on eBay once again.

Have a great day!

Breast Cancer Awareness Stamp

I interrupt this program to make a public announcement---

Do you know where I can get a "Hand Stamped By {insert my name here}" stamp that has the ribbon image on it so it looks like the Breast Cancer image?

I'm making cards and the proceeds will go to the cause. And I would love to stamp the cards with a "hand-stamped by Jozzie" on the back.

Please post here if you know a source.

12 Days of Christmas: Day 5

Good Morning All!

How's the weather by you? We got lots of snow last night and it's still snowing by me! It's sunny though so it's real beautiful and an added plus, I don't have to be anywhere....so I'm staying warm and toasty!

So, here's what I have in the bag for you guys today. Some yummy photo corners. Now, I know you're all creative and just because they're called "photo" corners, doesn't mean that's what you use them for. Use your imagination and make something non-conventional with them in anything that you create!

Better yet, make a list of ideas on your post for ways to use them and share your ideas with everyone that reads my blog! I'm so happy that I get a lot of traffic, especially lately.... ;)

Well, have a great day everyone and see you you all soon!

What To Do With Left-Over Turkey...

I love cooking, did you guess?

So since I've made turkey on Sunday, I've been using it up to make new and fresh dishes. Here's what I've made so far and will be making it looks like for a few more days... I cooked a 12 pound turkey and there's only four of us!

1) Turkey Tetrazzini (we had this for dinner on Monday)
2) Turkey Ala King (we had this for dinner Tuesday night)
3) Turkey Stock (I'm making this right now so I can make soup; and ohhhhh how the house smells so good right now. Nothing beats the aroma of home-cooking!)
4) Turkey Pot Pie (this is for dinner tonight)
5) Turkey Noodle Soup (for dinner tomorrow)
6) Turkey Salad
7) Baked French Onion Soup (will make this using the turkey stock I made)

WOW! How about you, if you made turkey last week, what will you be doing with the left-overs?

Inquiry minds would like to know.... :)

Post Thanksgiving Greeting

Hey Guys!

Sorry it's been a while. I don't know what it is about the holidays...it seems like you wait forever for it to be here, then when it's here, it's gone in 30 seconds! HAH! Was that a movie or what?! Well, in any event, I had a fabulous Thanksgiving. How about you?

We started off with spending the holiday dinner at the in-laws. Celebrated Connor's birthday then too. He got a lot of Superman anything. He's into Superman this year! His cake also had a Superman picture on it. We had a nice time.

The next day, we went downtown to see the Tree Lighting. Sorry about the picture. It's hard to keep a steady hand with hundreds of thousands of people near you and I think it was some 10 degrees too cold that night! I can barely feel my fingers! The kids also saw Santa @ Macy's. We finished it off with a dinner at Greektown. Then took the train back. FUN, FUN, FUN!!!

Saturday, Kurt and Connor went to hang out with his cousin. Ava went to lunch with her cousin. I went shopping! What's a girl to do?!?!?! LOL!

Sunday, we did our little family tradition of me making the turkey and all the trimmings. Well, actually, I roast my turkey stuffed with onion, citrus and herbs. And I prepared my own stuffing made with ciabatta bread, which was baked OUTSIDE of the turkey. It's healthier, safer and yummier that way. I also made my famous corn casserole and cranberries with Amaretto! While I cook, DH put all the holiday decor and lights outside, while DD and DS decorate the tree and put out all the rest of the Christmas decorations all over the house. I must say, the house looks beautiful and so festive. Dinner was also a success!

I am grateful for my little family and the things we get to do together. We build memories that hopefully, my children will pass on to their own families someday... I am forever thankful for what God has given me.

I hope you all had as great a time as I had this Thanksgiving! Here's to you guys...

Look who's 3 today!

Happy Birthday to you....happy birthday to you.....happy birthday dear Connor......happy birthday to you!

This is the one and only turned 3 today! Time sure flies when you're having FUN!!! We will be celebrating more of it during Thanksgiving at the in-laws.

"Bubbly"

I really {LOVE} this song. It has a feel good feeling to it! Hope I find you singing to the lyrics. Make it a good one!

xox

~~~~~~~
(will you count me in)
I've been awake for a while now
You've got me feeling like a child now
Cause everytime I see you're bubbly face
I get the tinglies in a silly place
(chorus)
It starts in my toes and I crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes, I always know
You make me smile please stay for a while now
Just take your time, wherever you go
The rain is falling on my window pain
But we are hiding in a safer place
Undercover staying dry and warm
You give me feelings that I adore
Its starts in my toes, then I crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes, I always know
You make me smile please stay for a while now
Just take your time, wherever you go
What am I gonna say
When you make me feel this way
I just...hmmmm......
And it starts in my toes makes me crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes, I always know
You make me smile please stay for a while now
Just take your time, wherever you go
I've been asleep for a while now
You tuck me in just like a child now
Cause everytime you hold me in your arms
I'm comfortable enough to feel your warmth
It starts in my soul and I lose all control
When you kiss my nose, the feeling shows
Cause you make me smile
Baby just take your time now
Holding me tight....
Wherever, wherever, wherever you go
Wherever, wherever, wherever you go
Oh wherever you go, I always know
Cause you make me smile even just for a while
I See Polka Dots
What's for dinner? I'm having Herbed Seasoned Roast Chicken {I made the herbed seasoning myself}. Side with acorn squash {holy mother-flippin' squash} - those things are so hard to peel. Maybe I need to come up with a Squash Peeler invention. Also, I prepared asparagus seasoned with garlic, balsamic vinegar and EVOO and rice with black beans and sweet peppers. YUMMMMMM-O!
And look what else I'm having with it --- Well, I can't very well have white meat without my Riesling! {join me?}
My Hallelujah Diet Revelation
They say that you have to do something for at least 30 days until it becomes a habit. Well, I am proud to say that I'm a "JUICE FREAK"! The book " Hallelujah Diet by George Malkmus inspired me to add juicing in my daily food intake. Actually, my friend Pat told me about the book. She's a cancer survivor. YEAY PAT!!! So anyway, since I've been reading this book, and juicing quite a bit, I have lost about 10 lbs. WHOOOOAW I feel good! I juice at least once a day sometimes even up to three times a day. And I snack on fruits and vegies a whole lot; everyday. That coupled with exercise three to five times a week, I'm solid baby! {WINK}
I hope you guys check out this book and adapt some of the practices mentioned on there. Then we can all live a long happy life together! Heehee! But seriously, I have never felt this good in my entire life. And I have been doing this for WAY over 30 days now....way over! You can go check out their website here to learn more ---> Hallelujah Acres!
And here's the juicer I use....BREVILLE Juice Fountain Plus
And one last thing, everything in moderation, OK? That's a wise advise from your wise Nutritionist! Guess who!
Tuesday, November 06, 2007
And then there were 5!
Do you watch "Dancing with the Stars"? I DO!!! I just love that show! My daughter and I enjoy watching it together and we get all the phones out (all 4 of them) and make sure we VOTE! Make sure you do too!!!
My TOP 3 are: Cameron and Edyta, Jenny and Derek & Mel and Max.
How about you - who's at the top of your list?
Buzz Light Year
And of course here's Buzz with a pose for yah! Funny thing was Ava told him that on Halloween he can fly like Buzz so what was he trying to do all day?! YEP! Trying to jump off a couch to see if he could fly....of course he landed on his face and started crying and disappointedly saying that "he can't fly"....... Big sisters sure can be mean, can't they???
Little Red Riding Hood
Here's my Little Red Riding Hood, and of course, she's not so little anymore. She's now 5'6"! WOW!
Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween everyone. How's the weather by you? It's sort of chilly with the sun peeking in and out. Hope it warms up some for the kiddies time for Trick or Treating.
Ava is dressed as Little Red Riding Hood. She's all dolled up. My little girl is becoming a beautiful little lady. Picture will be posted soon.
Connor is going to be Buzz Lightyear! Cute! He can't wait to go and collect some candies. But I have to be careful with him. He's allergic to peanuts. So we told him he can't eat everything.
Kurt and I got dressed up too but silly me I forgot to take pictures! I was dressed as Scarey Spice and he was dressed as Old Spice! LOL! Maybe I can get some pictures from friends.
I'll try to post pictures here soon! But for now Trick or Treat and don't let the goblins get yah! Hope all the ghosts out there are having a bobbin' of an apple great time this year!
You Made My Day!
Here's me with my Assistant VB Coach Pat! She and the team gave me a nice present at the end of the VB Season. But what she wrote on the card was very meaningful. She wrote:
"You've showed great class and unbelievable strength this year. I'm proud to call you my friend! ~Pat"
So I made her this card.
Thanks Pat! I couldn't have done it without you! I wasn't sure I was going to coach again this year. Long story... But I'm glad that I did. We all stuck together as a team and look at what we got!
We finished in 2nd place for the Season and 2nd in the Tournament! YEAH!!!
Happy Discovery Day!
I'm enjoying the last of the four-day weekend.....aren't you? Friday, the kids and I went shopping and had lunch. Connor was uncontrollable. We had to cut the shopping short as he was running around the store like a monkey. People have warned me about terrible threes....I didn't think it could get any worse.....HAH.....I was wrong. One time I was trying on boots (yes, thigh highs)....and he whipped the shoe tree across the dressing room floor. Good grief! We only got to go to that one store. I was exhausted after that. So we went home. We capped the night with a nice "quiet" movie with my daughter and some Whirley Pop pop corn. YUM! The best popcorn I've ever had. Go check out their website and see why they're so good!
Anyway, the next day, we went to Long Grove to get some gourmet popcorn and I didn't realize it was the apple festival. I've never seen so many people since Taste of Chicago. We went to one store then left. LOL!
Kurt came home that evening and we just relaxed. He had been driving for 36 hours straight with his cousin whom he helped to move back from AZ.
Sunday was house-cleaning day. Then I took Ava and some of her friends to a free VB camp. Connor and I stayed the whole time. I learned some drills to use for the girls' practice. They're in for a treat. I'm trying to get the girls to join the club. These two are one of my strong players and they'll be silly not to do it. So I hope they do, do it! Then Kurt got the kids pizza and he took me out for an Italian dinner. It was wonderful! We went for a short stroll afterwards. When we got home, we did some online shopping and we were up 'til midnight. Talk about some Discovery! Whooo-hooo! ;)
Today, I'm getting ready to workout......then go to the grocery......cook.....I'm having my in-laws over to celebrate her birthday......Ava has another VB practice later today......dinner time afterwards......then, that's the end of my four-day weekend.
Overall, I had a FANTASTICTABULOUS time!!! How about you? Did you have a nice weekend? How are you celebrating this day? Made any discoveries? ;)
Realistic or Romatic? Take A Guess!!!
You are a Total Romantic
For you, love is like a fairy tale.
Or magic. Or a Meg Ryan movie.
Problem is, you sort of want all three.
You bring the spark in the relationship
In turn, you expect your guy to keep the fire burning
Not a bad deal, as long as you find the right Prince.
If Only I Can Bring Back Time
Hmpf! Two years of my childrens' lives gone into never land! I tried to recover them but they're nowhere to be found. I did some major system cleanup a few days ago and I must have cleaned up a folder I wasn't supposed to and now they're totally gone! I'm miserable! So take it from me. BACK UP YOUR SYSTEM!!!! Don't be like me and procrastinate. I've always wanted to buy an external HD to store my priced files and never did. I finally did today. Now if only I can bring back time....
Lesson learned: I'll be better about taking photos on a regular basis, sharing them and saving them!
Here's a photo I took today of my son.....the BUG GUY!!!
Argh! The case of the missing photos....
OK, so I logged on to my iPhotos yesterday and guess what?! ALL my photos are GONE!!!! GONE!!!! did you hear that? Who took it?!? So now I have to figure out what happened to them. Like I need more things to do. I just hope I recover them or I'll die. And this time around, I'm buying a back up system. I know ME BAD! I always say I'll get one then I never do...so now, I'm learning my lesson.
Ava and I had a great weekend. She and I went out for sushi and did some shopping. Kurt and Connor took the kayak out on the lake and went fishing. It was a nice quality time with the kids. Housework? Well, that's another story.... I think I really need to get a housekeeper since I can't keep up with that. I managed to get the upstairs clean and some laundry...but that's it!
Kids - gotta love them! :) I thought with Ava growing up, she'll need me less. WRONG!!! Academically, I need to work with her to develop better study skills. She's a A student, but she's struggling with AP Math. So, yes, she needs me. I dread the days when boys start to occupy some of her time. Then I mentioned earlier how Connor was being potty trained...well, we've graduated there. Whooo-hooo! But if you're a parent, you know that a toddler, requires plenty and I mean PLENTY of time. He constantly wants to play, in between bathroom breaks, and snack breaks....I swear it's all about him! What?! What happened to my ME TIME?!? Hah!!! Well, I'm lucky that I have Thursdays for that. He goes with my in-laws so I can have my me time, then. But, Oh Calgon, take me away.............NOW!
Ok, Connor is calling.....will talk to you soon! Hope you're having a great one, wherever you're at!
Happy Birthday Anj!!!!
This is dedicated to my special friend in the Philippines! She celebrated her 20th birthday yesterday. Though we've never personally met I feel like she's been my BFF! Here you go Anj.....it's from Elliott! ;) Make sure to turn up the volume and play the you tube! ENJOY!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
You're looking kinda lonely girl
would you like someone new to talk to
ah yeah alright
I'm feeling kinda lonely too
if you don't mind can I sit down here beside you
ah yeah alright
If I seem to come on too strong
I hope that you will understand
I say these things 'cause I'd like to know
if you're as lonely as I am
and if you mind
Sharing the night together
woah, yeah
Sharing the night together
woah, yeah
sharing the night
We could bring in the morning girl
if you want to go that far
and if tomorrow finds us together
right here the way we are
would you mind
Would you like to dance with me and hold me
you know I want to be holding you
ah yeah alright
'cause I like feeling like I do
and I see in your eyes
that you're liking it too
ah yeah alright
I'd like to get to know you better
is there a place that we can go
where we can be alone together
and turn the lights down low
and start
Sharing the night together
woah, yeah
sharing the night together
woah, yeah
sharing the night
You're looking kinda lonely girl
would you like someone new to talk to
ah yeah
I...I'm feeling kinda lonely too
if you don't mind, can I sit down here beside you
oh yeah
sharing the night together
we are sharing the night together...
What European City?
Well, I'm here visiting my friends blogs and came across this one. Thanks Rene for this fun little tidbit. I guess I belong in Milan. :)
You Belong in Milan
Stylish and sophisticated, you want to enjoy a truly European life - away from tourists!
Milan fits you perfectly. Great shopping, high quality food, lots of culture... with very little hype.
So much is going on in my life right now yet I haven't had the time to blog and share them with you. Partly because I don't know if there are any freaks out there being nosey and just checking me out. HAH! Anyway, friends only please! ;)
So what's new? I'm coaching my daughter's volleyball team again this year. The final one -- YEAY! Our record so far 3:4. Oh we should have won that POP game...it was a nail biter nonetheless!
My almost 3 YO son is now potty trained! WHOOO-HOOOO! Such a milestone. I got it done before his 3rd birthday. Whew!
Still home remodeling.....kitchen looks sexy......right Tammy?!? ;) I need to post some pictures soon...I will, I will. The tile people scratched my stove top.....my brand new stainless steel range! Luckily, I still have a balance for the tile work...guess they won't be getting that!
What else, what else, got some unnerving news about something personal. I'll know more in March. Hope all is well. Please pray that it turns out "B" for me!
Hmmm.....lots more stuff going on.....I need to get a handle on them....but for now....Cie La Vie!
Thanks for stopping by....
Oh yeah one more thing --- {INSPIRE} to stimulate to creativity or action.....to be the cause or source of. {IDIOT} - you know who you are!
{SMILE - you're on candid camera!}
My Photography Goals
I have been frustrated long enough in not knowing how to take great photo shots. Mostly, they're all trial and error. But you know, there are so many resources available to us, right here on the internet. So, I've finally decided to take time to learn. I'm so happy about that!
Anyway, here are some plans I have in the works...
1) I'm taking an online course to learn how to use my digital camera. My goal is if I master this, I will buy myself a digital-SLR, finally! I put it off before as I couldn't justify spending so much if I didn't know how to use it. Now I have a motivation... It's a WIN/WIN, yes?
2) Learn how to use my Photoshop Elements 4.0. There's also an online course I can take. Basically, it's a subscription to newsletters and such so I can learn how to use this software. This way, I can enhance the photos I take and make for a very compelling layout.....which leads me to goal #3......
3) Organize photos that I have taken that are still sitting in my harddrive. I need to do the following: (a) pick out which needs to be scrapped, then edit those, (b) print out the ones that aren't going to be scrapped and (c) delete the ones that will be neither. Do this SOON!
Stamp & Scrap Trivia Question #1
Posted right here! Prizes are given at The Chalet! So sign up and join our family!
Good Luck!
Physical Trainer?
My new quest.... yes, I have been thinking about the possibility of me becoming a Physical Trainer. Why not? I have a Food & Nutrition Bachelor's degree. I worked as an Aerobics Instructor for several years. I'm fit, I'm healthy and I eat well (hah! for the most part anyway).
The first part of seeing whether I stick with this plan or not is go work out regularly again. I want to get it back in my blood. I remember working out so much that when I didn't I go through withdrawals. So I want to get active again and exercise a lot to make it a habit. I figure I have 30 days to do that.
Then after that, I want to look into hiring a Personal Trainer myself. Just to get an idea of the different styles and approach of different trainers. This will help me see it from their perspective. Maybe I'll get first-hand experience and see if this is something I want to do.
Once I figure that one out, then I'll look into certification. When I complete it is entirely up to me. The more time I give it, the earlier I will finish the course.
My family is supportive of my desire. So we'll see where this goes. Wish me luck guys and pray that I stick with this venture. I will keep you posted along the road of my adventure....
'Til then....
ISO: Wooden Dish Drainer
No, it's not a book, it's not even a bird! But I am in search of a wooden dish drainer. Not a dish rack, but just a wooden one that can lay flat on my countertop that I can use to dry dishes on. Then when I’m done, I can stash it away. I haven’t had any luck googling. I don’t want one like the photo attached. Just a flat one that almost looks like a large wooden slat trivet.
Can you help? If you find the one I'm looking for, post a link here and I'll send you a nice RAK! ;) Promise!
Digi-Cam
Guess what time it is?! I've been sitting here for the past four hours learning how to use my digital camera. There's this neat website called Creative Learning Zone from Epson and I'm learning a lot so far. Uhmm, I've also been blogging so you'd know if I have visited your site 'cause there will be comments from me.
If I haven't heard from you in a while, I would love to know what's been going on. Post me a comment or email me, I'd love to hear from you.
Hope all is well! Oh yeah, if you have a digital camera, make sure to visit Creative Learning Zone and learn something new!
Ciao!
Song Lyric...
Here's another Chalet Blog Challenge......If you could be a song, what would you be?
This one sticks to mind from many moons ago! We joked about this among friends.... you had to be there!
She's into superstitions black cats and voodoo dolls.
I feel a premonition that girl's gonna make me fall.
She's into new sensations new kicks in the candle light.
She's got a new addiction for every day and night.
She'll make you take your clothes off and go dancing in the rain.
She'll make you live her crazy life but she'll take away your pain
like a bullet to your brain. Come On!
[CHORUS:]
Upside, inside out she's livin la vida loca
She'll push and pull you down, livin la vida loca
Her lips are devil red and her skin's the color mocha
She will wear you out livin la vida loca Come On!
Livin la vida loca, Come on!
She's livin la vida loca.
Woke up in New York City in a funky cheap hotel
She took my heart and she took my money
she must've slipped me a sleeping pill
She never drinks the water and makes you order French Champagne
Once you've had a taste of her you'll never be the same
Yeah, she'll make you go insane.
[CHORUS]
She'll make you take your clothes off and go dancing in the rain.
She'll make you live her crazy life
but she'll take away your pain like a bullet to your brain. Come On!
******
Now, do you remember who sang this song?! ;)
Me? a T-shirt?
One of my Blog Challenges at The Chalet is if I were a T-Shirt what would it say?
Well....I've always been a do-er. I never ever want to wonder how things may have been if....so I just do it! So did you guess then what my T-Shirt would have said? Yep, you got it......the Nike Ad of "Just Do It"...that would be me.
My sister sent me a nice surprise in the mail which I got in the mail the other day...check out my T-shirt! Yep, my hubby's name is Kurt. LOL!!! Of course there's Connor who just had to be in the picture! :)
As Promised! Pictures from CHA!!!
Ok so here are some photos I took from CHA. Bear in mind this is my first ever to attend this ever so wonderful event. Thanks to my buddy Valerie for taking me! Thanks Val! You're THE BEST! So anyway, the whole place was incredible. Booths after booths of scrapbooking related items. Just in case you didn't know, CHA stands for Craft Hobby Association.....so any crafters are there, but the scrapbookers rock the house! I tell you, the majority of displays there were of scrapbooking stuff. The displays are out of this world! They take vintage doors or windows and decorate them with patterned paper, ribbons, flowers, the works. Again, being this is my first.....{nyuk nyuk, nyuk} I didn't take pictures of those. Sowwy! Instead, I took pictures of layouts that inspire me. Hope you like them nonetheless. Next time I go, I'll know better....
There were also oodles of make and takes. That alone was so worth it to go! I mean yes, there were lots of tags, bookmarks, mini-albums, all of which seem to be the in-thing to make. Perhaps, because it's less time consuming to make? But other booths had those lunch tin cans, 6" x 6" photo album, 8 1/2" x 11" wooden frames to alter. Unfortunately, I didn't get to make any of these since the line was way long and some of these ladies, I kid you not, seem to have forgotten where they're at at the moment. Hello! You're at CHA and there are 10 women in line behind you. So glue that sucker down and hurry up would yah?!? I swear, they were taking their sweet old time. And some of them, think this is a social party like, get to know me, 'cause I so want to be in your Design Team?! Get real!!!! But I did enjoy myself despite of... LOL!
I did take a picture with Elsie! She's nice. Her booth was that of a kitchen, which I can so relate.
And then some places, give away free magazines, books, catalogs, products. Val, told me I should go all three days ---- I should have! Well, maybe next time. Heck, YES, NEXT TIME!!!!
So here are just a few of the things I took pictures of.....just enough to wet your appetite! I know, I'm a tease, what can I say?! :)
Oh My CHA!!!!
I'm so thrilled to blog about my going to CHA today! But you all have to wait, 'cause I am so tired right now. In a good way though. My eyes have never been so spoiled before and oh my brain is so overwhelmed with LOADS of ideas! I am sooooooo inspired and I can't wait to create something.
I'll post some photos of things I've seen and people I've met! So come back again.....I'll tell you more later!
Good Saturday To You All!
Woke up early this morning to get the ceramic tiles installed on our basement floor. The guys did an awesome job. Tomorrow they do the grouting. This is sooo exciting! Can't wait to see the final outcome.
DD went out for a sushi lunch with her cousing LK. She's growing up much too fast. DS and I were home all day. This little guy sure keeps me busy.
It definitely is a good Saturday.....had a nice visit too with an old friend. That is always nice! :)
A Serendipitous Kind Of Day!
I've had such an AMAZING day!!!! OK, so get this.....I had a 10:30am appointment at Asha Salon over at Woodfield. Well, I didn't realize my clocks at home are behind. I swear! Anyway, I get in the car it's 10:15am. I'm speeding, hoping I'd make it there in 15 minutes. Screech! Traffic! In the middle of the day, right by Deer Park. So I call, I'm on hold, nice announcement. BTW, Rene your voice is still on there... hold, hold, hold, OK so they finally get back on. I told them I'll be 15 minutes late. She puts me on hold, {whistling here}, hold.....she gets back on and tells me that if I get there in less than 15 minutes, she'll just do a cut, that's it. If later than 15 minutes, I'll have to come back another time. What?!?!? I'm paying you $65 for a haircut?!? $@#&* Sorry Charlie. Sorry Rene, I know you like her, but come on.....
So, I turn around, and drove by Avalon @ Deer Park. Posh place, not bad, I looked at prices, not bad. So I asked if they had someone available. Yep! Crystal at 11:30am. It's 10:30am so what do I do?!? What's a girl to do at a strip mall?!?!?!? Care to guess?!?
Yep, I went to Pier 1. They're having an awesome sale. I found suede throw pillows regularly at $35 a piece for $6 a piece! I got two! Then I saw an espresso coffee table regularly at $350 for $42! Yes, you heard it right. SOLD!!! Ok, so I don't want to miss another haircut appointment so I told her I'll pay now but I'll pick it up after my hiarcut. She said, no problem. I go for my haircut. She gives me a scalp massage! WOWOWOWOWOW! Love that!!! Oh she was amazing! I got a fantastic haircut. Lookie at what she did for $50!!! Crystal, I'm going back to you girl! You're awesome!!!
So about an hour later, I go back to Pier 1 to pick up my coffee table. Cheryl, the saleslady tells me that she found the matching console table still all boxed up regularly at $275 for guess what?!?!?!? $30!!!! Yeah, baby!!! SOLD!!! Talk about serendipity. All because my clocks are all off! ROFL LMAO!!!
I'm one happy girl. So do you like my haircut?!?
