Today....

...was just an awesome day!

I got to:

1) Surf the net for a couple of hours without interruptions (My ds was napping)
2) Chat with a friend I haven't spoken to in a while. She's doing great by the way. Taught her about hackers and we'll play challenges tomorrow. =)
3) Learned about my birthday from Nancy's blog!
4) Had time to write a few post today on my blog.
5) Had a chance to visit some friend's blogs and commented.

Camera Purchase

So after much deliberation and intense research, this is what I ended up getting!

Why?

Because it can take awesome pictures at 8.1 MP. It's VERY user-friendly! It's very compact. I realized I don't like lugging around a big D-SLR camera. I only want to carry what can fit in my purse. And baby, this one is it!

Know your WHY!!!

The most important characteristic that enables people to stay the course through great difficulties is that they have a powerful purpose. Whenever you want to make any change in your life, the purpose behind your goal is more important than the goal itself. It will keep you going when obstacles raise their ugly heads. Knowing your "why" intensifies your desire and commitment; if you can create enough reasons why you want to make a change, there's nothing that can stop you.

Action 1: Write down the goal that you'd like to achieve and list all the reasons why you MUST achieve it. Make a huge list of all the reasons that will excite and motivate you to stay in action every day. What are the specific benefits you will experience? How will you feel about yourself? How will this victory impact your self-image and confidence? How will it benefit your loved ones? For example, if you're trying to get in shape, feeling great, enjoying more energy, looking fabulous in your new clothes or driving men crazy with your new body may be a benefit-list them all.

Action 2: What will it cost you to not achieve your goal? Just as important as identifying the benefits you will receive as a result of achieving your goal, it is equally important to identify the consequences of not achieving your goal. Think hard about the consequences you'll experience personally, professionally and spiritually if you don't take the necessary actions each day to make your goal happen. What will it cost you if you don't start working out consistently? If you don't make the prospecting calls you need to make each day? If you don't stop smoking? And as importantly, how will that make you feel? Our emotions drive our behavior, so fully connect with how it will feel if you don't achieve your goal. You'll be a lot more likely to take action and keep taking it if you regularly connect with the cost of not following through.

Start every day by focusing on why you want to achieve your goal and the cost not to follow through. Think about how achieving this goal will positively impact other areas of your life. Feel the joy and excitement you'll experience by honoring your commitments to yourself today to make that goal a reality.

Just as important, review what it will cost you if you don't achieve your goal. What will it cost you if you don't start eating a healthier diet, lower your cholesterol, or save money for the future? And how will those consequences make you feel? Our emotions drive our behavior, so fully connect with the pain of failure to motivate you to take action.

Remember, you have the power to condition your mind, body, and emotions to motivate and drive you to change your behavior in ways you may not have thought possible.

Guess what I did today?

SHOPPING!!!!!! It's the Jozzie thing to do!!! Old Navy is having an additional 50% off to their already sale items so I couldn't pass that up! I came home with FOUR bags full. It's FUN to have a daughter. Oh, and I got Connor two pairs of shoes. But most of the stuff are for me and Ava. And all I was going to get was a hooded parka for her.

So if you have an Old Navy near you ---- go SHOP!!!!

Happiness...

Most people are searching for happiness. They're looking for it. They're trying to find it in someone or something outside of themselves. That's a fundamental mistake. Happiness is something that you are, and it comes from the way you think.

NO Power Hour

Ok, some of you may have heard of "Power Hour" per Belinda Ellsworth's mantra - where you set aside one hour each day to do something productive as in doing customer care (phone calls, bookings, recruiting, etc...)

Well, the other night we lost power for about one hour from about 6:30pm to 7:30pm. Do you know where I'm going with this? Keep reading....

So all the power went out, no storm, no anything, I guess Comm Ed just felt like giving us a break....or maybe it was some Divine Intervention. In any event,my 2YO, Connor, comes running and yelling, "Dat scaes meee, Dat scaes Ava, Dat scaes Mommie, Dat scaes Daddy". As if once wasn't enough declaration, he did this over and over every 2 minutes or so. Imagine that?!

We gathered all our flashlights and lit some candles. We put some candles on our kitchen table, made some hot cocoa for the kids, and hot tea for me and Kurt. Then we brought out some Panettone bread. So we snacked and talked about our family goals with the kids. Yes, while Connor continued to make his declaration of.... I'll spare you, just read above what scaed him! LOL!

So the lights went back up. And our discovery was, when the lights go out, do you ever notice how people tend to stay close and really bond? ;) I won't go there, but some of you know me... Anywho, Ava said, we should do this at least once a week, where we turn off all the lights, no TV, no phone, no computer and just talk.....eat too! And call it our "No Power Hour".

So moral of the story is, power or not, you can make anything a very electrifying experience! And that children more often than we think speaks of pure wisdom. Here's to more bonding!

Happy 2007 folks!
